Summary

Six teams from across the country joined with 3 Chicago teams to compete in the 2009 Chicago Cup. Saturday began with considerable natural watering of the field but unrelenting rain did not deter the friendly competition that brought players to the Northwestern University pitch. It became clear early on that there was no destined winner of the tournament and that every game was a good competition. The rain evenual cleared and the intensity of the compeition continued with the majority of games being decided by one goal. In the end, strokes were required to decide both semi-final games with hosts Chicago Red finishing as the winner, beating Miami in the final match of the day.

Thank you to everyone who traveled for the tournament, the referees who kept games fair, CFHC members for their help in organizing, and our sponsors for allowing this tournament to happen!
