Indoors Week 5
There are two issues that have been brought to my attention that I would appreciate everyone’s help in addressing:
- Time – We have gotten really tardy in our timekeeping of late. There are tasks that have to be done to get things moving each week, i.e. boards setup,. If you aren’t there on time, someone else has to do your work. Of course, occasionally people have a special situation and are running late because of traffic or having gotten tied up at a previous task. But to have such a large number of people showing up late that we cannot start games punishes those who made the effort, and complicates organization when subs are being shuffled at the last minute.
- Foot injuries – We are a competitive group by our nature, but let’s remember that we are first and foremost playing to have fun and that we are all members of the same CFHC team. It’s very tempting when you see a potential pass or a chance to score, to push the ball through someone who may be unfortunate enough to be in the way. Getting a foot injury is a risk you take playing hockey but it happens less if we are careful. There were an alarming number of people hobbling around after hockey on Saturday and we were unfortunate enough to suffer a broken toe among our ranks. With a tournament coming up this weekend, the last thing we need is people getting hurt.
Hopefully we can take the week off as an opportunity to regroup and focus once again on CFHC as a team. We know we’ll all be cheering for one another in Cinci (regardless of pink or black), so it’d be great if we can use that positive energy moving forward into week 6 of indoors. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
