Hockey Bio: Mags
started playing field hockey when she was 6 years old,
and from the minute she touched the ball, she fell in
love with the game. She started for a club in Hilversum
(the Netherlands), but moved to England after a couple
of months, where she played for the Dutch School. After
2,5 years in England, Mags moved back to The Netherlands,
where she played for Klein Zwitserland, a club in The
Hague for about 3 years. After that she moved to France,
where she didn't play for about a year, since she didn't
know of a club in the area. During that year, Mags just
realized how much she loved the game and how much she
missed it when she couldn't play. Luckily she found a
club after a year, so for 4 years Mays played for Saint-Germain-en-Laye,
a club in the suburbs of Paris. During my University years
in Utrecht, she started playing for a 2nd ladies team
in Hilversum again, but after a while joined their first
team and played with them for about 7 years, untill she
moved to Chicago in September 2005.
CFHC Experience:
I joined CFHC at the start of the
2004 season after not having played hockey for close to
5 yrs. It has been a fantastic experience ever since.
The diversity in our club and the welcoming nature of
our team regardless of what level of hockey you bring
is fantastic. I have never enjoyed playing hockey as much
as I have when I do with the folks of CFHC.
