Keeping up to date... We send out our weekly updates and notifications via Teamer.net. In order to receive CFHC communications, you will need to join this group. Email one of the captains for an invitation to join this group.

Before your first practice... You MUST fill out a CFHC Waiver in order to play with us (this is a requirement as a visiting player, if you are just checking out the team, or plan to become a member). We take precautions to keep the game as safe as possible, but anytime you combine sticks and a hard plastic ball, there's the potential for injury. For liability reasons, we must have your signature on file to say that you are accepting the risk of playing with us. We do strongly suggest that all players wear shin guards and a mouth guard when playing, but because we are an adult organization, we do not police compliance with this. We often have extra sticks on hand at practice, so don't let lack of equipment stop you from coming. Before practicing, please give the signed waiver to either of the captains, the financial and membership chair, or any other board member present. We try to have extra copies available, but bring your own if possible.

After you've checked out a few sessions... In keeping with our plans to further develop the club, we ask that you become a member if you enjoy playing with us. The annual dues are structured such that it will cost full members $150 and student members $100 per year -- this includes $50 that you pay to USFHA for their membership and insurance coverage. We have investigated insurance options for the club and individuals for the whole season as well as just the tournament and $50 per person is a GREAT deal for the club and individuals. With the USFHA membership you get full liability and supplemental medical insurance for the whole year at any CFHC field hockey event. USFHA Membership is quick and easy to apply for on-line at http://www.usfieldhockey.com/usfha/membership.htm. Please submit the remainder of the annual dues ($100 for full members, $50 for students) to the Financial and Membership Chair, along with your USFHA membership number and a filled out Membership Application. Enjoy your hockey... Once becoming a member, you are eligible for all benefits of membership including selection for tournaments. In some cases, we send teams to tournaments based on the first members who sign up. For other tournaments, the captains will pick the best team from those members who have made themselves available. The type of selection process will be stated when the tournament is announced. Don't want to travel? No problem - continue to come along to practices, hang out afterwards, and mark the year end game and party on your calendar! We order uniforms on a regular basis; members are eligible for a substantially subsidized rate on uniform purchase. More details will depend on the timing of when you join.

Our club is diverse and fun but can always use more enthusiastic hockey fans, so CFHC looks forward to new players joining the club!
