Rocky Mountain Invitational Field Hockey
Denver, March 24 -25
. . . . . Well done to those who traveled to Denver last weekend for the Rocky Mountain Invitational Tournament. I'm waiting for
more details from the trip, but the initial reports are that in a mixed bag of weather and on a surface we weren't quite familiar with,
the team won 2 and lost 3, each of the defeats in tight closely fought encounters. When I have more information available I will post it.
It's another tournament we have participated in and it does wonders in spreading the word about Chicago hockey, good job!

Upcoming Tournaments
I've tried to put together a very brief summary of tournaments in the pipeline, with a cost estimate so people can start planning. For those not familiar with how we operate,
'Social' means first come first served, so if a roster maximum is 16 players for a tournament, the first 16 to sign up, go to the tournament. For example, the Cincinnati and Denver tournaments just past.
Competitive means the best squad of those players available will be selected. Only after all CFHC members have been selected will we approach non-members to represent us if we still have places available.
- Midwest Classic - Columbus, OH. Co-ed, social. April 14th-15th. Estimated cost for hotel, travel and tourney fees = $100/each
- JFK - Virginia Beach. Men's and Ladies Division, competitive. May 19th-20th. Estimated cost for hotel, travel and fees = $370/each
- Dallas - Dallas, TX. Co-ed, social. May 19th-20th. Estimated cost for hotel, travel and tourney fees = $330/each
-
Big Apple - New York. Men's and Ladies Division, competitive. Sept 1st-4th. Estimated cost for hotel, travel and tourney fees = $370-400/each
- Atlanta - Atlanta, GA. Men's and Ladies Division, competitive, Oct 6th-7th (unconfirmed). Estimated cost for hotel, travel and tourney fees = $370-$400/each
As you are all probably aware, we are currently collecting names for Columbus (roster almost full) and JFK. If we are unable to complete rosters for JFK, Dallas may be an alternative option. We are hopeful of being able
to send squads to JFK, if you are interesting in attending and haven't signed up yet, please respond and let me know and we can add you to the list of those willing to travel.
****A note on Chicago Cup as I know a lot of you are interested to know whats happening. We continued to try to engage Northwestern this week with no success so far. We have received a response from Oak Park and initial signs are that
the pitch may be made available to us, dates and cost are being discussed at present. The board is meeting on Saturday to discuss next steps with Northwestern and Oak Park. We are very aware that April is upon us and we need to nail down dates and location.
It will be the main topic on the agenda for the board.****
