Scrimmage:
As most of you may know, our Mens and Ladies squads are headed off to VA Beach to do battle in the JFK tourney. Therefore there wont be an official club scrimmage this weekend. However if any of you would like to organize impromptu scrimmage please feel free to use the club forum to do so.
Thanks

*** US Field Hockey Association Membership***
Please join or update your USFHC membership, if you haven't already done so for this year. A lot of the tournaments that we participate in, including our own Chicago Cup require current USFHA membership. If you think that yours has expired or that you don't have one, please go online to www.usfieldhockey.com and either join or update your membership. Make sure to forward your confirmation to our Financial & Membership Chair Joshua Cooper at financial-chair@chicagofhc.com
Also please try and bring your annual dues for the season, so Josh can make sure everyone is current. Also it is very important that you find the time complete one of our club waivers and return it to Josh.
Columbus Update:
What I learned this weekend: A hockey ball moves very slowly when there's an inch of water on the field.
CFHC was represented at the Columbus Midwest Classic by Laura, Sandy and myself. We combined with some players from Ohio to form the Midwest Maniacs. We had a gorgeous day for hockey on OSU's campus Saturday and won all 3 of our games. Unfortunately, play was cut short (very short) on Sunday due to a torrential downpour. After a valiant effort to continue with the tournament, our first game was called a little way into the 2nd half due to lightning (but just for the record, we were winning...).
As always, the social was the highlight of the tournament. We persevered in our efforts of spreading the flip cup craze to every corner of the globe.
Overall it was a fun weekend of hockey. I let the organizers know that we would be sure to bring a full squad next year, as long as it wasn't scheduled the weekend before another tournament!
Chicago Cup Program Ads
Hello CFHC,
We have reached $650 in Sponsorships. 65% of our goal so far. We have 35% more to go to reach our goal to raise $1000 from sponsors. As an added incentive, the CFHC Board as approved to give 2 prizes to members who raise the most money from sponsorship. The prizes are 1st Place - $50 and 2nd Place - $30. Deadline to get in all sponsorship is May 31st, 2008, so we can add in all the sponsorship logos and messages in the Chicago Cup ’08 Tournament Program.
2) In addition to sponsorship messages in the Chicago Cup 08 Tournament Program, we will have a section for Good Wishes Messages from individuals. For $10.00, we will print a message for the Club or any particular player in the Tournament Program. So, contact your friends, families, lovers or Sarah Marshall and we will include in your message in the Chicago Cup 2008 Tournament Program. Deadline to get in all the messages is also May 31st, 2008.
Contact Faizal for more information.
Thanks,
Faizal
