End of Season Activities:
. . . . . Board Elections: Candidates that were nominated have
been informed and the elections webpage is being updated daily when
possible.
. . . . . Please RSVP to the Captains (mens-captain@chicagofhc.com
and ladies-captain@chicagofhc.com) if you will be able to
make the end of season game on the 18th. Start time will probably
be 3 pm, subject to field availability (we will send out a
midweek update if the time is any different). The
deadline to do this is Saturday, November 11. Updates
will also be placed on the 'tournament'
preview page, which we will make every effort to update
as people respond.
. . . . . We looked into several options, and places like
Cafe Iberico and Cafe BaBaReeba required either very high
minimum charges or approximately 100 people to host a party.
Sooo, we are happy to announce that the end of season dinner
and AGM will be held at 42 N Latitude this year (www.42nlatitude.com,
4500 n. lincoln ave. chicago, il 60625). Because of the success
of our sponsorship arrangement with Nevins and our Chicago
Cup tournament this year, the club will be subsidizing the
cost of attendance, so the ~$50 bill for the evening which
includes food, drink (open bar 8pm-11pm, read on for details)
tax and tip is available to you for $25. We highly encourage
all members in good standing to attend, as
the AGM will immediately follow dinner. If
you have a guest that would like to come and does not mind
sitting through the potentially 1-2 hr meeting (based on last
years' lively discussions), they are welcome. Please RSVP
no later than Saturday November 11 (email Steve:
social-chair@chicagofhc.com). The menu is as follows:
- Trio of Dips and Pita Platter (vegetarian): Hummus, Roasted Red Pepper-Feta Dip and Spinach-Artichoke Dip, accompanied by warm Pita wedges, sliced Carrots, Cucumbers and Tomatoes.
- Latitude Salad (vegetarian):
Mixed Greens, Mandarin Oranges, Tomatoes, dried Cranberries, Red Grapes, and toasted Almonds, with Honey-Poppyseed Vinaigrette.
- Chicken Vesuvio:
Pan roasted chicken breasts with crisp potatoes, garlic and rosemary.
- Mushroom Ravolis (vegetarian):
Mushroom ravoli with tomatoes, red onions, white wine, garlic and mushrooms.
- Draft Beer: Bell’s Oberon, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Carlsberg Pilsner, Hoegaarden White Ale, Young’s Oatmeal Stout, Stella Artois Lager and Summit Hefe-Weizen

- Glass Wine: House red & white.
- Well drinks.
- Package also includes unlimited soft drinks, juices, coffee and teas.
Dinner is being served at 8pm sharp
with the AGM following immediately after.
